Among the various parties involved in setting up and managing a trust, there are the Trustee and Guardian.
The Trustee is responsible for managing the assets that the Settlor transfers into a Trust independently, but with due regard to any directions in the Trust Deed for the protection of the beneficiaries.
The Guardian monitors, on behalf of the Settlor and for the protection of the beneficiaries, that the Trustee performs its duties properly, following any directions in the Trust Deed and taking into account the purpose for which the Trust was established.
